Do you have any questions or concerns? Hopefully they will be answered below but if not please feel free to contact me at

I’ve tried to lose weight in the past and not succeeded. Why would it be any different doing one of your programmes?

I will spend the time getting to know you and finding out why you have not been successful in the past and how I can support you so you can reach your goal. It will be about you agreeing what changes you can make and what your goals will be on a week by week basis as well as long term. These changes will be broken down in to manageable chunks so you do not feel overwhelmed.

The idea is that you will have the tools and techniques in place to be successful with long term weight management – so you no longer need me! There’s no relying on special food products or drinks, just healthy plant-based wholefoods.

At Zest Health the focus is not just on losing weight but also maintaining your healthy weight – for the rest of your life. Working with me is an investment in your health today and in the future. Once you have reached your target healthy weight I can then work with you on maintaining that weight.

It sounds great but will it take up too much of my time?

How many of us have said that about so many things? But what is more important than your health? When time is limited it is all about priorities.

Zest Health programmes are client-oriented which means I work with you to agree small manageable changes a week at a time. This will help you to incorporate new habits into your life.

We will discuss ways in which you can incorporate everyday activity in to your life. This doesn’t necessarily mean having to take yourself off for a gym workout. I understand that this is just not what everyone wants to necessarily do.

I’ve lost weight before but put it all back on, and then some ☹. How will this time be any different?

The problem with a lot of ‘diets’ is they are just that. They do not focus on long term sustainable weight loss and maintenance. At Zest Health it is not about dieting but about being much more aware of what you are eating, how much and why.

The importance of having a healthy attitude to food cannot be underestimated. We will work together in unravelling the negative or unhelpful thoughts and feelings you may have had about food and weight loss in the past to put you on track for a healthier future.

I feel awkward and embarrassed about my weight. Will you make me weigh myself?

I cannot make you do anything, but I do advise all my clients to weigh themselves regularly, at least a couple of times a week. Although weight is not the only factor to consider it is a very simple way to check where you are and whether you are making progress or if further adjustments need to be made. I understand it may be something you feel very apprehensive about - all I would say is that it is really important to know where you are to determine whether you are on track. Weight loss can be monitored in other ways but using scales gives you feedback on more subtle changes than comparing the fit of a pair of jeans, for example.

I recommend investing in something like the Nokia body composition wi-fi scales. These measures your weight and body fat and the results can be recorded, with your permission, so I can see them. This avoids having to ‘report in’.

I also recommend taking measurements to monitor progress. This is particularly relevant if you are looking to tone up, because muscle is smaller, but denser and therefore heavier, than fat.

What exactly is a plant-based diet? How will it help me lose weight?

A plant-based diet is one which focuses on fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. Zest Health advises on eliminating or dramatically reducing the reliance on processed foods and ensuring most of your food is coming from whole, plant-based foods. I appreciate this can be quite a big step for some people though, so I suggest foods to help with the transition if necessary.

This programme is suitable for everyone whether you are vegan, vegetarian or you eat meat. All of the suggested meals, snacks and drinks are vegan but they are great for everyone. If you choose to include animal products in your diet then that is of course your choice, but they are not included in any of the recommendations.

Many plant-based foods are very nutrient dense, but not calorie dense, unlike a lot of processed foods and animal products. As long as you are not consuming too much of the high fat foods such as nuts, seeds, avocados and oil, then you will be able to eat plenty whilst still losing weight. This is because you will be eating fewer calories but without feeling hungry.

If you have any allergies or intolerances I can work around these if I am designing meal plans for you on the Gold Package.

I am still not sure this is right for me. Can I contact you?

Of course. Please remember I offer a free 15-minute consultation to anyone interested in the range of packages. I will be happy to answer any questions you have.
